One question, answered from evidence

Is a deposit on an off-plan purchase in Oman refundable?

This page gives the structure that decides refundability. Your contract’s own terms are a cell no general page can fill.

The answer

Investigate

No single yes or no exists. The honest answer is the structure that decides your case.

There is no blanket answer. Refundability turns on three things: what your contract says, whether the money sits in the registered escrow account, and the conditions under which that account releases funds.

A deposit paid outside the registered account loses the protections the escrow regime exists to provide. That one fact decides more refund outcomes than any clause.

Why

  1. Refund terms are contractual; no page can establish yours without reading them.
  2. The escrow regime protects money inside the registered account, not payments that bypassed it.
  3. Release conditions are set per project, and they control what can come back.

What remains unestablished

The two empty rows are the whole case: where your money would actually sit, and what your contract actually says. Both are documents, and both can be read before any transfer.

What to ask before you pay

  • To the seller: which registered account receives my deposit, and under what conditions does it release funds?
  • To a lawyer: read the refund clause of this draft and tell me what triggers it — and what defeats it.

This page shows evidence, not advice. It does not say buy or don’t buy, and it cannot read your contract.
